USB drivers

I have an HP deskjet 882c and an HP scanjet 5200c
connected to usb ports on my new pc. Windows XP doesn't
have drivers for the scanjet and doesn't recognize it as
connected. The deskjet is recognized but stops printing
after a few lines. Are there current drivers for xp that
I can download for both of these older devices? The
deskjet was connected to a parallel port on my old pc and
worked fine. The scanjet was on a usb port on my old pc
and it worked fine also.

I though XP PRO had all the drives for also any device.
I think you need to visit HP website.

the 882 should run with 930 series drivers or any windows 2000. do you have
norton installed. he'll screw it up every time. that can be fixed.

Drivers, even drivers included in XP are provided by and the responsibility
of the device manufacturer. You'll need to visit the hp web site and look
for XP compatible drivers for your printer and scanner and/or check to be
sure your devices are being supported in XP.

First place to look:

c:\windows\system32\drivers

Then

c:\windows\driver cache\i386\driver.cab

Upgraded from Xp home to Xp pro. Everything worked
perfectly until downloaded service pack 1 from
Microsoft. Then the USb ports were disabled

Try uninstalling them from the Device Manager, restart the PC and XP should
reinstall with the correct drivers.

Had similar problem. I did the same upgrade, now my USB
ports are not USB 2.0 anymore. They work for USB 1 but,
not for USB 2.
