usb ethernet card/data cable for xp home network?

which will give the best performance, usb computer to
computer connection or ethernet 100 card and data cable?

xp professional systems, wish to also share dsl connection.

any advice is appreciated.

Hi, tim -

A USB 2.0 Ethernet adapter will run at the same speed as
a 10/100 Ethernet card. If the USB adapter only supports
USB 1.0 the real Ethernet card will be faster.

Remember that when networking stuff the machines will
talk at the speed of the slowest device, so a 10/100
Ethernet card connected to an older USB 1.0 device will
talk at 10 (not 100) megabits per second.
