| My USB 20GB hard disk, which works fine with any standard Win 2000, does not work with Win XP. With Win 2000 it required no additional driver files to be loaded. I could just plug it in and it worked fine. In Win XP, it is simply not recognized and makes a funny noise ( as if continuously seeking the hard disk platter) This is an IBM hard disk with a unbranded casing which connects externally to the USB and is automatically recognised as E drive in Win 2000. | Guest
