USB HD Problem

Posted: 01-23-2004, 02:36 PM
Have a USB 2.0 HD that I have had operating correctly on a 1.0 connection. Now The system recognises that the device when it is plugged in, but ... No drive letter appears, the properties say the device is working correctly but the drive is 100% used with no free space, which is not the real case. Any ideas on what to do. The data on the drive is not critical.

IS the drive still on a USB 1.0 connection or is it now on a 2.0? If the latter I'm encontering a similar problem. The drive isn't recognized when connected to a 2.0 port on my laptop (cardbus adapter), but works fine on another desktop with USB 2.0 on the motherboard. It works fine if I connect it to one of the USB 1.0 ports on the laptop as well.

My computer USB is 1.0 while the device is 2.0.
