USB mass storage drive / file transfers crashes / Boot up Crashes

Posted: 11-11-2003, 12:08 AM
I have a new external USB 2.0 hard drive. I partitioned
it to have four storage drives. All drives on it have
been reformated.

The Problem:
When transfering files from or to External Hard Drive,
system pops up blue screen and crashes during file
transfer. Size of files do not matter. Although larger
files tend to have more time to crash.

Problem Two:
If external hard drive is connected and the power is on
while the computer is restarting or booting up, the
system crashes. The time of the crash is when I log in
and windows is loading all start up programs. Everything
loads up fine, until the "safely remove hardware" feature
loads then the system pops up a blue screen and crashes.

I am running WinXP Pro
Any types of suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
