USB Printing Support

(XP Home) Can't install USB Printing Support (message:
possible cause that .INF file is written for Windows 95 or
later) so I can't install my HP LaserJet 1000. I've tried
drivers from original HP CD and downloaded from HP site. I
also installed 4in1 driver for VIA Chipset Mainboard - no
effect. The same problem on onboart USB port (VIA 2.0) and
PCI->USB (v. 1.1) card. Windows Update finds a missing USB
driver ("Microsoft Usb Driver Released on August 13
2001"), but can't install it. There is an exclamation mark
by "hp laserjet1000" in Device Manager USB group (driver
not installed). Does anybody know the solution? Thanks in
advance!
