You need to delete this file because it is corrupt:
C:\windows\inf\INFCACHE.1

You will need to edit its file permissions to grant Full Control to
the Users group before you can delete it.

USB storage

I'm trying to use a 4G USB storage for transferring files from an XP platform
to a Vista platform.
I'm finding something very funny. I copy the files to the storage (and I can
see and open them on the XP machine). Than I put the USB storage on the Vista
machine.
I can see again the files but I cannot open them (the files seem to be
corrupted).
Finally I put the USB storage on the XP and I see that the files are
corrupted.
It looks like Vista has corrupted my files.
I'm using the same USB storage for transferring files between XP machines
without any problem.
Any suggestion?

Thanks

My first suggestion would be to provide more info, what types of files are
these? Are they being opened with the same version of the same software on
both computers?

Try taking ownership of the files in Vista.

Does it give an error once you start copying them, saying Access Denied? If thats the problem you need to take ownership.

I was having problems transfering XP and Vista, and discovered I
needed to make sure I dismounted the USB drive using safely remove
hardware.
