USB Unknown Device or Volume Manager

Recently i bought USB 2.0 external enclosure ME-320.
Connected Maxtor 160GB using this to my LAPTOP with usb1.1
(XP os). Whenever i plug the usb cable, XP reports that HI-
SPEED device is connected to slow device and it will work
at slow speed. But XP does not show the hardisk in
explorer. In device manager i tried to assign driver
letter also. After assigning a drive letter, i can access
drive in MSDOS but still not in explorer. Other machine
with win2000 works fine (usb 1.1). Installed all updates
of XP. Installed new driver for ME-320. But still the
problem persist. Removed and reinstalled all the usb
driver. Can anybody slove this problem?
