Open Partition Magic

Under Pick a Task, click "Create new partition" > Next > make sure "After C:
(Recommended)" is selected > click Next > choose how much space you want
allocation to the partition (I recommend 15 to 20 GBs) > next and finish >
click Apply > restart system for changes to take effect.

Remember, the free trial of partition magic does not do anything... it just
shows you how easy it is.

Yes, I know, but I just assumed solid_snake owns the full version.

now just put in the dvd to install vista. select the option to download
updated installation files, wait a while. then it will give you the option
to update or start a new installation. since you want to install vista on a
new partition, select the 2nd option (not the upgrade os option). then it
will give you the option to select the partition you want to install vista
on. then your good to go.
