Default User accoount name

Hello All, My problem is I have a new program that is sanative to the way I
have my account named. I use an”&” in the name and the new program does not
like that. I tried changing the name by taking out the “&” and replacing it
with the word “and” but the program will not run and shows an error message
still using the user account with the “&” in it? Is they any way to get that
change so as to get the “&” sign out without having to create a new user
account. I do not want to be switching between user accounts all the time. If
someone knows of an easy way to move all my info to a new account that would
work also, but it would have to be a few key strokes to make it happen (just
too much info to move). Thanks

Jeff

Changing a user account name only changes the name you see in the Start menu
and the welcome screen. There are just too many places throughout the system
where each user account name is registered.

Creating a new user account and moving all of the folders, files and
settings to the new account is very complex and has a lot of pitfalls.

You would be better off to simply create a different account and use it to
work with that program.

If you want the instructions for copying the data from the old user account
to a new account, let me know.

Thanks for the reply Ronnie, I kinda figured that would be the answer. I
would still like the instructions to copy my data and file to the new
account. Thanks,

Jeff
