| Jeff, Guest account, by design cannot connect to internet. Cannot initialize a RAS connection. But it can use an already ON cable/dsl/lan or already connected dial-up account using Fast user Switching. Dial-up connections might terminate while switching users. To prevent that, download: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/KeepRAS.Exe Also, check these sites: How to Keep RAS Connections Active After Logging Off http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=158909 Keep a Dial-Up Connection Open for All Users [Famous tip from Kelly] http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/e...2/theriot1.asp -- Ramesh - Microsoft MVP http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k ------------------------------------------- Computer viruses: description, prevention, and recovery: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=129972 ------------------------------------------- "jeff" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:2474EAC4-A5AA-45A2-984B-02F37ECFCAFC@microsoft.com... i am unable to go out to the internet with a user account and with the guest account, i have other users including the adminstrator account that are able to go out. what restrictions do i need to take off in order to allow access with this account. these accounts are on xp professional and are all on the same pc. thanks jeff | Guest
