User Profile Not Loading

Hi...When I click on my user profile an error box opens with a 30 second
count down. If I do not click okay, then my pc locks up. The error message
I get is
"Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you on with the
default profile for the system. DETAIL - The system has attempted to load or
restore a file into the registry, but the specified file is not in a registry
file format."
So...Please does anyone know what happened to my user profile and how I can
fix it, i.e. reinstall the "unknown" specified file in registry format?

Also found few suggestions and to do lists here

If u still cant fix the problem sugggest create a new user and copy
"application data" folder from ur old user to new this will restore ur
savings and settings.

thota, Thank you...and for responding to the other "same" posts as well.
Hopefully I can fix, otherwise I have to create a new user and transfer all
the files. So, another ?, how do I transfer Outlook Express and all the mail
that was in the corrupted account? ddd929
