Using Setup to Deploy Vista Enterprise - Rearm issues

I'm trying to deploy Vista Enterprise using Windows Setup and a custom
image.

I'm using the walkthrough at:

However, when I copy my image to the Vista source files on a network
share calling it "install.wim", the install fails if I have used
sysprep to generalize the image. It installs successfully if I have
not used sysprep to generalize the image (but is not rearmed). I want
it to succeed but also start the grace period fresh.

any ideas would be helpful. i've done a lot of searching and not many
are trying to do the particular blend of installation i am.
