Video Capture problem

Posted: 07-19-2003, 04:11 AM
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck
was: 0x000000b8 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000,
0x00000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP.

I am using XP Pro Sp1, Snazzi VCD Creator & Snazzi Movie
Studio VCC to create Movie. Once I start recording, I
get the above error message.

P4 2.6c - HT
Gigabyte 865PE MDB - 800 FSB
256 MB 400 DDR
8X AGP Geforce 440 MX

Please advise.
Thanks

If you're not using Windows Movie Maker, which is how I read your post, you
are in the wrong newsgroup. If you're using Snazzi's capture software,
contact their technical support.

Video Capture problem
Posted: 06-23-2004, 01:52 AM
I am able to capture from video camera to my computer using video capture settings “high quality video (small)” and lower. However, captured videos becomes “jumpy” when I use video capture settings starting with “high quality video (large)” and higher. When video is captured as DV-AVI, for example, not only is the video captured “jumpy” but the audio becomes “jumpy or choppy” as well.

But I would like to use video capture settings higher or better than the “high quality video (small)” as there is marked improvement in quality when using these higher video capture settings.

Can anyone tell me what should I do?

It seems to me that data throughput of your system is restricted somehow...
it might be your slow or fragmented disk, your pc in general (what are the
specs ?), or your capture card.

Start with defragging a couple of times. Try your capture card on some
friends computer with better specs to eliminate the other two.

Generally the money becomes the deciding factor. However if it allows you to
consider go for a CPU upto 3GHz, beyond that speed the value for money
decreases. Other things to consider are fast HDD of atleast 7200 rpm and 1GB
memory. Take these as guidelines only, a slower spec would also work... I am
using 500MHz P3 machine only

Video Capture Problem

I am capturing a home video from a sony analog camcorder connected via
S-video to the video-in of an ATI X800 Pro VIVO graphics card. The problem
is that I get contrast changes in the captured video or even when just
previewing the footage in moviemaker. What I mean by contrast changes is that
the picture has a very bright contrast(shing whites) and than it is ok for
awhile then goes bright again. It repeats this at regular intervals. Any help
or explanation would be appreciated.

Unfortunately this is the result of poor analogue capture. Try ensuring all
apps not required are turned off, as analogue capture is very pc intensive.
Turn off internet/firewall/anti-virus etc.
Defrag the hdd and ensure as much space as possible is available, full hard
drives work slower.

If non of this helps, then you need to look at changing your capture method,
maybe buying an external analogue to digital convertor, pinnacle do some
cheap ones, canopus excellent ones.

work with WMM1 or 2. I always get an error message. "Your device is being
used....)
Can you explain with it's not working
