video card memory

i just upgraded my system from xp pro to vista ultamite. when the
installation finished i wanted to play GTA vice city, but somthin popped up
sayin "GTA VC cannot find enough avalible video memory space." when i had xp
pro it worked fine, but i tried to play some other games, like that chess
game vista came with, that had the same problem!!!!SOME1 HELP PLZZZZ IM SOOO
BOOOORED!!!!!!!!!
--if there is a way, plz tell me how to delete some video memory, or make is
smaller compress it, whatever anyting that works.
--is the vista too advanced or somthin?

Have you installed the drivers for your video card and checked for any
direct X updates. (you don't give your system spec which might help) Try
running in compatibility mode. Have you checked the GTA forums for info.

how do u run in compatibility mode?
and i did download dx, and checked 4 updates on the driver

If you right click on the shortcut you use to start the game, select
properties. One of the tabs should be labelled "compatibility" (as it is in
XP) there you can select a previous operating system version.
