Hello,

I would read the readme file that comes with the driver
to see if you game falls into one of their "bug"
categories. I know that there are certain bugs that the
current ATI drivers can't fix right now. ATI knows about
these problems and are currently working on fixes.

i'm not sure which game is messing up, but ATI is pretty
good with fixing things. After they release a catalist
driver (such as 3.9) it includes previos fixes.
example: version 3.9 catalist drive is out
They creat bug fixes for current games that have recently
come out (such as Call of Duty).
In the next version, 4.0 of the catalist drivers, it will
INCLUDE this fix. But as of now, you would have to
manually download the fix from their ATI site.

So what i suggest is look for a individual fix for the
game you are having troble with, ontop of having the 3.9
catalist driver. (you will need both) I had to do this
for call of duty, and i too have a ati radeon 9600 pro.
