Viewing Network Drives in Applications

Posted: 07-04-2006, 05:46 AM
Hi
I have installed Vista beta2 and am connected to a domain. My logon script
works fine and I succesfully connect to all network drives. However, when I
go into an application like dreamweaver for example and try to open a file on
a network drive, the network drives are not showing. This also happens for a
few other apps but is fine when trying to open files from any Office app.
Is this a compatiblity issue or am I doing something wrong??
The windows firewall is not on so is not blocking anything.
thanks for any suggestions

Mark

Does the remote drive show up as empty or does it display any errors ?

I'll run this with our app-compat team and see it there are any issues on
this front.

Hi

The remote drive does not show up at all and I have had the same problem in
a few apps now, mainly Macromedia and MYOB software

OK.

There is some more information I would need.

* I assume that the drives are being mapped with your credentials ? (i.e the
logged on user)
* Do these applications require elevation ? (i.e when you start the
application, does the user account control pop up)

Hi
The drives are mapped as part of the logon script and are normally available
from most other apps. When I launch the other apps the UAC does not appear
so they are running under the normal credentials
