virtual memory

I am not very familiar with this but when I run some games it says I need at
least 3mb of virtual memory to run it, so what do I set mine at. do I do a
custom setting or let windows manage it. what should the mb be set at in
the machine. my spec is as follows 2ghz machine amd 768mb of ram 40 gig
hard drive x 2 geforce fx 5600 128mb card

any help

down it tells me im low on virtual memory and what i do
to sort it out

Right click my computer, properties, advanced, performance(settings) .
Advanced and at the bottom there you can change the paging file virtual
memory.

Right Click "My Computer" go to properties
Then the Advanced Tab

Select settings in the Performance section
then the Advanced Tab
You will see the Virtual memory section there
Click change and make your adjusts

That specific problem - low virtual memory error at shutdown (and only
at shutdown) has been associated with the Live Update feature in
Norton Internet Security.

Symantec has posted a fix for this problem. Download the file
LRSETUP.EXE from http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/files/lu/lu.html and
run it.
