Default Vista Activation

Under Windows Activation in CtrlPanel->SystemAndMaint->System I'm trying to
active windows by clicking the link by the keys. Nothing happens and it says
I have 0 day(s) left. How can I get my MSDN license activated?

Thanks,
Darren

Were you connected to Internet when you click Activation button in System? Be
sure to connect with Internet before you do the Activation process. After
connecting open atleast any one website and then try to Activate Windows.

Hope this is what you were missing. Let us know!

It finally activated itself. It just didn't do it on command or give me any
notification that it was trying to activate. I clicked it several times and
then a couple days later i got a balloon popup that said it was activated.
Some type of "in progress" notification would've been nice.

Right click 'Computer' and select Properties. In the Activation section of
the resulting dialog, you should the status and a link to activate.

I have a new HP Pavilion Notebook. I chose automatic activation and had no
problems. However, when I check my activation, although Windows is activated
the Product ID is 20 characters and does not match the Product Key on the
label. Should I change the product key to the one on the label or leave it
alone?

The product key on the label is for the install. The product key on the
diaglog is your registration key. That is for if you need to call Microsoft
for support. You don't need to change anything.
