Vista and Nero InCD

Dave: Thanks for the info. However, prior to Vista I have used packet writing
fairly reliably. This may seem a dumb question, but if I didn't use packet
writing HOW would I use a CD-RW (or DVD-RW) with 'normal' packages such as
Nero? I would want to reuse the CD, and I thought that is what packet writing
software and *-RW disks were for.

Again, I may have been missing something all along, but I thought an RW disk
was really only for packet writing.

Using a cd burning app like Nero is called mastering, and is the preferred
way of backing up data. If your using cd-rw disks, these mastering apps have
the ability to erase them for re-use. They also have options to finalize, or
close the disk when they finish burning, you can unselect these options and
go back and add more files to the disk later. To use the built in Windows
burning engine, just highlight the files you want to burn, right click one
of them, and select "Send To", then select the cd recorder.

Don't install InCD as it may cause problems. In fact the installer wont
install it by default anyway.
Vista has it's own packet-writer. However in my experience it is slow and
the best method is to use Nero Express.
