Vista and Problems

I installed Vista last week and the system worked fine as long as I left off
software and hardware. The just are not many drivers yet to support Vista.

I really loved the look and the way the system operates. Beacuse of all the
bugs and problems Vista had to go as much as I hated to give it up. I
formated and reinstalled XP. When I reinstalled XP I did not have a single
problem. Smooth as silk. I really hated to dump Vista, just to many bugs at
this time.

I think when all the problems are addressed it will be a great system to
have. I just have to have my PC working well all the time. I know I
downloaded the beta of XP and I do not remember all the problems I had with
Vista.

Hopefully MS will get the act together and we will have a release soon!!!!

I understand that it did not work out with your system and Vista. But it it
is just a work in progress. I am sure that the final release will be smoother
then silk. The reason Microsoft has Beta testing is because they would like
to know what needs worked on. Constructive criticism is very important and I
am sure Microsoft is doing it's best in assisting us with answers and
developing the final product.

Well of course there are bugs. This beta is not meant as an OS replacement
for XP, its bound to have bugs. Only install it if you are willing to help
iron out the bugs. :-)

Yup, business as usual bar beta bugs.

For me the biggest gain to upgrade to Vista is the eye candy, and Microsoft
Word is easier to use at the same time it's more confusing because they
changed the interface. Other than that, it's XP 2 the sequel. Hope it won't
cost me too much to upgrade. I didn't see any other functionality that I
must have that I don't already XP.

To my understanding, MS will not release anything before they release RC1 to
public. Obviously there are (many) bugs in beta 2. Since it passes the
beta qualifications, it's in general better than most CTPs released to TAP
and tech beta testers before. Please also note that you should not install
beta 2 in production units.

The hardware issues remind me of what we had during Whistler beta, which
most win98 drivers broke apart.
