Vista appears to be preventing a password being set

Hello,

I am trying to install a program that requires a password to use. It appears
that Vista is blocking the setting of the password. Any idea what i am
referring to ?

thanks

No. No idea. :-)

What program are you trying to install and what exactly is the computer
telling you.

VNC. I don't have the message here but it is something to the effect of
password can't be set unless you are an administrator, which I was on that
machine.

Figures. VNC is not exactly known as the pinnacle of security, which is why
the majority of organizations ban it from use. I'm not surprised it is not
Vista compatible.

Sounds to me like VNC must be run as an admin then. Remember, in Vista under
UAC you are not an admin. Right-click the executable and select "Run as
administrator...". Then try the same operation.
