| By default, Windows Vista does not allow access to shared folders from accounts that have no password. This is to protect you from internet-based attacks that frequently scan computers looking for empty passwords and taking over such machines. *** It is highly recommended that you set a password on your account *** Now, if you have a GOOD firewall running, you may want to take this shortcut to allow your other computer to browse your Vista machine without entering a password. FOLLOWING THESE STEPS WILL GREATLY REDUCE THE SECURITY OF YOUR MACHINE: "Marlon" <Marlon@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:7F1BE24B-C247-4442-B21C-12E8EB320073@microsoft.com... Quote:

It will still ask you for a username and password; you just need to type in the username and click OK. - JB | Guest

| Why not just put in the username and password of the account you created when you installed Vista. That's what I did. There is also a save password checkbox so it won't ask you again unless maybe you reboot. "Marlon" wrote: Quote:
