Default Vista backup error (0x80070005)

Hi,
When trying to backup my files, I continually get the message that the
backup failed because Access is Denied (0x80070005). The backup drive is not
included in the backup files. Also (possibly related?), Windows will not
allow me to change from Standard User to Administrator, even though
Administrator is my account setting. The control panel still shows me as a
Standard User.
I would sincerely appreciate any ideas you could offer!
Steve A.
