Default Vista Basic and Mac OSX

Hello:

Simple question: When logging to a computer on my private network, how do
I set Vista to send just "username" as opposed to "originating
computer/username".

This is a problem because most of the computers on my net are iMacs and
require just "username" and "originating computer/username" gets rejected..
