RE: Vista BSOD on Dell Inspiron E1505

Having a similar problem. It runs in Safe Mode with Networking, but will
BSOD itself at random times when operating in normal Windows mode. I've
uninstalled lots of software and drivers with no improvement.

Other than Startup repair, is there a Vista-64 repair utility somewhere?

I'm running Vista 64 RC1 on a Compaq Presario w AMD's chip.

What is the error message you are getting, not just the code. Which Vista
are you installing 86 or 64

Error codes and messages would be helpful. Turn off 'automatically restart'
in system properties to get the message

that's all that shows is the stop code. And there's no way to set any system
properties as this system will NOT start in Safe Mode, etc. It's completely
unbootable after starting the clean install of Vista.

having same issue on non-dell custom system

my specs
abit kn9 ultr
athlon 64 380
2 gig ddr2 667 memor
nvidia geforce 7600g

when i try to install the final version of vista on my system, it wil
go through the install, and at the last step, i will get a seemingl
random blue screen. it will vary from the irql_not_less_than_or_equa
to bad_pool_header to pfn_list_corrupt...and a few others i didn'
write down in time. this happens exactly the same with either the 3
bit or 64 bit versions

i have tried loading the beta smbus driver nvidia has, but that had n
effect whatsoever. my hardware tests perfectly with utilities at bootu
as well as in an xp installation

i had vista working just fine in the supposedly unsupported nforce
environment on my a7n8x-e with an athlon xp mobile 2500 oc'd t
2500ghz. my current system is at a plain vanilla state, with no o
whatsoever. i'm very confused why i'm having this issue
