vista business cannot join domain on sbs 2003

just got new laptop with vista business and am trying to connect to
the domain at work on a small business server 2003. when i try to
join it comes back with an error message saying "No mapping between
account names and security IDs was done." i have no idea what this
means and how to fix it. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
