| Very frustrating! I am just trying to add a simple HP Laserjet III printer. When I click on "Add A Printer" and select "Add a network, wireless, or Bluetooth" printer, I get the following: "Windows Explorer has stopped working. Looking for a solution", followed by "Windows Explorer is restarting...". Additional info: 1) I can see the dialog in the background that shows available printers, but it's empty and only comes up and is immediately covered by the error message above 2) This is a clean install of a business Action Pak edition of Vista. 3) I am part of a domain - which is run by Windows 2000 machines 4) Not that I even get that far, but the machine this printer is on is Windows 2000 5) I tried installing the printer locally and succeeded ... of course, I'm not connected to it so it won't work but I just wanted to see if the rest of the printer functionality was working. 6) I have downloaded the latest updates. Any help would be appreciated ... sucks I can't even ATTEMPT to add a network printer without a crash!!! EggHeadCafe.com - .NET Developer Portal of Choice http://www.eggheadcafe.com | Guest

| I was having this problem today when trying to connect to a network printer and found that it was an issue with the domain registration. I went in and re-set my domain info and set my user name to an administrator and once I restarted it fixed the issue. Apparently Vista will not warn you if the workgroup or domain is not set correctly - it just crashes. You may have to be set up as an administrator also. | Guest
