Vista eating RAM

Posted: 03-05-2008, 11:07 AM
Hi, I just received my new vista laptop yesterday and was surprised when I found that, when idle, around 850 to 950 MB of RAM was being used by vista at any point in time (laptop has 2GB installed) as compared to my aging xp pc which only used about 230MB when idle. With some tweaking, I was able to get this down to around 750MB. Is this behaviour normal for vista??
