Try this..

- Open My Computer

- Right Click -> Add a Network Location

- Next

- Choose a custom network location

- Enter a sharepoint site as copied from IE:
http://site/library/stuff/default.aspx

- Remove the pagefrom the URL in this example "default.aspx" click next

I have a sharepoint site hosted with http://www.frontpages-web-hosting.net/
and when I enter something like this url:
http://site/library/stuff/

for my site I get this error:

"The folder you entered does not appear to
be valid. Please choose another."

Has anyone gotton the "Add Network Location" wizard to actually work with a
sharepoint site???

-I think microsoft rolled out vista without this basic capability and that
is why no one is addressing the error message I keep seeing and that I have
read that other people are having.

-Nice job microsoft, vista cannot even do "network places" right anymore!!!!

I am also experiencing the same issue. I was able to add my WSS 2.0
hosted site but when I try adding the WSS 3.0 site i get the same
error. This is really frustrating because the only reason I upgraded
to WSS 3 was so I could take advantage of Groove 2007 and Sharepoint.
Apparently the sharepoint tool in groove is only compatible with wss
3.0. What is the problem here?
