Vista finds 2 networks

Posted: 12-28-2007, 01:59 PM
I was using Vista home premium with out a problem and Netgear modem router
connected to the back. I decided to upgrade to Vista Ulterment, since
upgrading windows now says when I boot up that I have multiple networks, one
being "network" the other coming up with "Identified". I am unable to contact
to the Internet and what I have been doing is disabling one of the networks
found, at this point they both disappear then I get Vista to re enable
networks and only one comes up and all is fine.
Any ides how I stop this happening

I too am now having the exact same problem as you....I've been looking
for a solution for the past 4 days....I have an HP Pavilion desktop with
Norton 360 installed. I have a Linksys wrt54gs router and a Scientific
Atlanta cable modem. I've tried turning off firewalls, resetting router
and modem, connecting straight to the modem, checking with all
possibilities i thought of. I'm kinda getting pissed off about the
situation now..Can't find info nowhere that resolves this. I hope
someone comes with a simple solution quickly. I originally thought my
onboard NIC was going out...It's definitely a Vista problem...

I have updated the driver for my Network adapter but this did not solve the
problem, since this only happened when I upgraded my Vista I contacted
Microsoft and they are looking into it, hopefully they are now awhere of this
problem so I think there be a patch or something released soon.
