| Something tells me it's the video drivers distributed with vista for your x1600. I had the same problem and solved it by finishing the installation in safe mode, booting using "Last Known Good Configuration" after the installation was complete. The computer then booted into vista without problems as long as I didn't let it install the X1600 drivers that came with vista. I tried the drivers supplied by ATI for Vista Beta 2 and now had a BSOD after booting. I went back to the "Last Known Good Configuration" and tried the XP drivers for my X1600 and everything works fine. The installation program itself doesn't work but it unpacks the drivers in C:\ATI\SUPPORT\6-5_xp-2k_dd_32464\2KXP_INF\ (default directory) I can now boot Vista normally and use it without problems but I still get a BSOD when I shut down the computer, just before it really shuts down. Hope that helps. Jean-Felix "Andre Da Costa [Extended64]" wrote: Quote:

| I would say, try using the Windows XP drivers for your X1600, it worked for me. "Andre Da Costa [Extended64]" wrote: Quote:
