Vista Installation Problem

Posted: 06-08-2006, 05:19 PM
Hello,

I want to install Vista Beta 2. I started the setup while I was running
xp. I chosse NOT to to upgrade my current OS (c, I choose to install
on a seperate partition (e. During installation (after copying files),
I was prompt to reboot. So I reboot and the new Bootmanager is shown. I
can select XP or Vista. When I chosse Vista, no bootscreen is shown.
Instead of a Bootscreen my screen is complettly black. After 1 second my
screen fade to green and other exotic colours. It's very slow but no Vista.

So I boot XP and a Message Box appears: "Could not install Vista ..."

The hardware could not be the problem

So please help!

Try booting setup into safe mode and see if it will finish.

When you boot your computer and the Vista boot manager appears with Windows
Setup, press F8 on your keyboard. A list of boot options will appear, Safe
Mode should be default selected, press enter and it should boot setup into
safe mode.

that sounds like the new aura screen saver type display,
youiprobably just di dnot wait long enough.
there is very little informational display during install.
frequent fade to black is not uncommon.

Oh yes, that part of setup is called the Out of Box Experience, there are
some delays there especially when choosing your keyboard.
