Vista ISO trouble

Posted: 06-11-2006, 11:34 AM
Ive been trying to burn the Vista ISO to a DVD-R but after its done and I
reinsert the disc it'll never autorun or setup or anything, I even tried
double clicking on the disc and it just explores the disc, and IVe tried
using the setup application on the disc and it says its not a valid Win32
application.

Ive tried it on 3 dvds with 3 different prorams, first I tried Sonic, which
just copied the ISO itself on to the disc, then I tried UltraISO, which then
made it so that whenever I try double clicking on the disc it says its not a
valid Win32 application and doesnt even have the dvd icon but instead an
unreconised icon, then I tried Nero 7, which is the one I explained of where
it wont autorun or wont run setup but I can open it and explore and its got
the boot folder, the setup exe, and all the other files but just doesnt run.

Can someone tell me how to get one running or post a direct link to a progam
and instructions.

Are you sure your BIOS is set to boot from a CD or DVD before looking at
drive C?

You might ant to try and use the Virtual Daemon Manager from Daemon tools, so
you can mount the ISO on a virtual drive from your computer and see if it
works that way

http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/down...tegory&catid=5

After an instal,, right click the Daemon Tools icon next to the system
clock, then choose virtual CD/DVD Rom, then choose the ISO. Daemon will then
mount it. THen go to that drive and it should Auto Run like a DVD

Ive tried mounting it on Daemon Tools as well as Nero virtual disc drives but
none work. And to the BIOS suggestion, how would I go about setting it to
what your saying?

Did you verify the checksum of the .iso you downloaded? I have downloaded
x64 thrice and each time the size is correck but the checksum is incorrect,
meaning, bad .iso. If you have, great. If you have not, do a search in this
forum and you will find Andre and Zack both have posted the method, their
preferred application for doing so and the correct results numerous times.

You will want to enter your system startup as you boot up. The hot key can
differ with different manufactures. Often times either F2 and or Del will
work. When in BIOS, you will need to verify and possibly adjust your boot
priority. Typically, boot priority is set to floppy, CD Rom, and Hard Drive.
Another words, every time your WS boots, it first looks for a bootable disk
in whatever location you prioritize as first, second, third...

When you use Sonic select Copy and then select burn image to disc. An Iso
file is a compressed file. I had the same problem when I first burned the
disc straight to a dvd. When you selct burn image to disc it should burn it
to the dvd so that it will be bootable because it will not show up as an iso
file anymore.

When you use sonic select Copy on the main menu and then select copy image to
disc. An Iso file is a compressed file, when burning an Iso file you always
have to burn it as an image. After you are burning it as an image to disc it
should be able to boot up. I had the same problem when I burned the file
directly to disc as a data disc. -Mark X.
