vista media centre

Posted: 07-26-2007, 10:52 AM
Hi all

I have tried several forums and no one seems able to help.

I am running Vista Home Premium on a Toshiba Equium laptop
Intel R core 2 cpu T5200 @1.60 ghz. 0.99 GB Ram.
My media centre version is6.0.6000.1641.
I am well aquainted with the WMC setup and live in a very strong signal area.
I am using a usb dvb-t digital terrestrial tv stick. which works extremely
well with its own media player etc. However when I set up my WMC it dowloads
the guide. I scan and get 70 channels but as soon as I try and watch live tv
I get a message "no data"or no tv signal . I am baffled. I am fully up to
date with the drivers, but maybe it is something to do with my computer
hardware or capacity. Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks

Your question really doesn't have anything to do With Vista installation,
which is what this forum is about. Have you tried the Media Center
(windows.mediacenter) group?

Have you installed any other DVD players or Codecs such as Nero. If yes try
using a restore point to go back to before their installation since their
installation my have corrupted the MS provided MPEG2 decoder built into
Vista Premium and Ultimate.
You can use the other application and scan for stations since neither of
these operations requires the use of a MC compatible decoder.
