Vista not connecting to Internet

Posted: 06-20-2006, 08:57 PM
I have an older spare notebook (Dell 8000) on which I installed Vista with no
problem. It uses a PCMCIA card (TrendNet TE100-PC16R). Vista found it and
installed the driver with no problem. However, I can't connect to the
Internet. It says I have limited connection. Normally in XP, I can just
plug in the cable and I am on. I don't even have to join the domain here at
work. When I try letting Vista check the problem, it says it needs the
driver for the unknown PCMCIA card. Well, it's already installed and shows
up in the device manager as working properly. I didn't find this card on the
list of being incompatible with Vista but I didn't find it on the list that
it was. What am I missing? (besides a few brain cells)
Thanks,
Ted
