Vista RC1 system tray indexing during upgrade

everything worked great. However, going from beta 2 to Vista RC1 the system
tray just set their and indexing. I cannot use any pulled down menus. The
working screen goes active to inactive. I tried reinstalled vista rc1 and i
still get the same thing. Any suggesting.
Note: My internet explorer does not work. I get a blank screen thats says
"connecting".
