| How do I establish a Remote Desltop Connection to this Vista machine? I am not new to remoting, but I do not know how to trouble shoot it. Settings: Vista Enterprise x64 is set to "Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication" because this is on a small local network. The selection of Remote Desktop users given permission in the Vista machine is appropriate and matches those trying to connect. Facts abont how I am trying to connect: Neither the sever (Windows Server 2003 R2) or the laptop (Windows XP Pro SP2) can Remote into the Vista machine. The server can Remote into the laptop and the Vista machine can Remote into both the server and the laptop. Error Message: When I attempt to connect I get the following error messate: ============== The Client could not connect to the remote computer. Remote connections might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to accept connections. It is also possilbe that network problems are preventing your connetion. Please try again later. If the problem continues to occur, contact your administrator. [ok][help] ============== (I have also tried "Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop".) What is the cause and the remedy? Thank you, Doug | Guest

| I have the same problem. Connecting with telnet didn't work on port 338 (it worked on port 80). I have enabled Remote desktop with "Allo connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop (les secure)". I have enabled Remote Desktop in the Windows Firewall. I have als looked up the advanced settings in "Windows Firewall with Advance Security", and Remote Desktop is enabled with action Allowed at loca port 3389 (Remote Port: Any), Users machines etc: Any. This has been working until recently -- awe | Guest
