Vista screen saver

Posted: 01-21-2009, 12:54 PM
I purchased a new computer -- HP s3700f -- running Vista with SP 1.
Replaced a much older HP with WinXP Home SP 2.

When I try to personalize the screen saver, I do this:

-- right click on screen
-- click on Personalize
-- click on Screen Saver
-- click on Settings

The system then tells me that there are no settings on the screen
saver that I can change --- huh???

On my old machine I made a folder named "Screen Saver" into which I
put jpg photos of my grandson then I set the XP screen saver to run
from that folder. Thus, when the screen saver started, it went
through these photos, displaying each in turn for about 10 seconds
each.

Why can't I set up the Vista screen saver to do the same thing?

Thanks.

Got it -- thanks.

To the right of the Settings button is a box that shows the current
screen saver. Mine was set to the default, Windows Logo. There's a
small arrowhead next to that title -- click on that arrow and you get
a drop-down menu -- None, Windows Logo, etc., etc., Photos, etc.,
Select photos then click on Settings.

Thanks -- now my screen saver is flashing photos of the Cutest
Grandson Ever.

The "Settings" button is to allow you to change settings for the
currently selected screensaver. Some screensavers (e.g. "Blank") have
no settings to change.

You can. From the drop down box next to the "Settings" button, choose
"Photos". Then use the "Settings" button to choose which photographs
you want to display.
