Vista Ult. Installation on top of Vista RC1

Posted: 02-26-2007, 06:42 PM
I have Vista RC1 neatly set up on its own hard drive (my workstation has 4
HD's) & I have a new TechNet supplied disc w/ Vista Ultimate. Do I really
have to lose all my settings and special apps by reformatting (wiping) the
HD, or is Vista Ult. smart enough to install over the existing RC1 so I can
retain my custom settings, etc.? Can I just "Repair" the RC1 and enter my
PID that I have from my TechNet subscription?
