You might have more luck posting to a Vista-specific newsgroup. Responders here who don't have Vista (e.g. me) may not have a clue what clicking on Welcome Center is supposed to do nor how it is implemented. As a guess, does it make any difference if IE is already open and connected when you do this? E.g. something which may be related to what you are seeing occasionally happens for me with XP's Help and Support Center (e.g. after pressing Win-F1) if I try to use that as the first application after rebooting or reconnecting. (I have DSL with PPPoE.) It appears that that app is a bit less tolerant of not having an immediately available Internet connection than IE or OE, which at least will give me a Work Offline/Retry choice as a signal that the Internet connection isn't quite established when it try to open a remote support document. FWIW I consider this just a fact of life with PPPoE and deal with the retries or workarounds required. HTH Robert Aldwinckle --- | Guest
