Default Vista Ultimate and Win2k3 SBS

Bought a new Vista Ultimate laptop a few weeks ago and joined it to my office
Win2k3 domain - no problems - working fine. Uses proxy server.

Laptop also has a vodafone 3G datacard which is used when out of the office.
Installed Firefox with no proxy settings so laptop connects to internet -
again no problem.

Today laptop was out of office and did a Windows update.

Laptop returned to the office and it will connect to LOCAL resources but
will not allow IE to connect to anything external, i.e. the web. The web
page error message suggests that it is a DNS error.

DNS settings are fine for IPv4 but no DNS listed for IPv6. Don't use IPv6
so disabled that and it still does not work.

Has anybody else come across this? Is it the Windows update that has caused
it?

Also tried to do a System Restore but for some reason that failed.

Any ideas appreciated....

Could be Microsoft update. Which update do you have? Or check this search
