Vista Will Not Install Due To Windows SharePoint Services

Posted: 07-30-2006, 01:36 AM
I am trying to upgrade Vista Beta 2 to July CTP. I get the following message
during setup.

You must make the following changes before installing Windows

Close Windows installation, go to Programs, and uninstall the following
programs:
Windows SharePoint Services

I never installed Windows SharePoint Services. I have searched the Registry
& HDs for Share & SharePoint with no result.

Can I run windows setup without the compatibility report?

Please someone help.

Why don't you just do a clean (Custom) installation? We went through this
conversation already.

I can't on that system. It has over 200 programs installed! I know I should
not have installed it, but I did.

Why can't someone from Microsoft tell me what files or registry entries
found cause this to come up? I am an MSDN subscriber. I have probably made
Microsoft tons of money since I switched to PCs in the late 80s and started
selling, developing for, and recomending PCs and Microsoft products. I could
tell you why my software comes up with errors and does certain things. I
thought I was helping Microsoft by debuging there software.

Because Microsoft does not support a beta. The only support is self-help
and peer to peer.
