Vista will not install usb drivers for new devices

Posted: 07-10-2008, 12:25 AM

I have been trying to install a usb flash drive and a wireless notebook
optical mouse onto my Lenovo R61 without success very frustrating.

I am using Vista SP1.

When I attempt to load the devices I receive the following message.

WINDOWS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM INSTALLING THE DRIVER SOFTWARE FOR YOUR
DEVICE.

"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error
while attempting to install it ( usb mass storage for the flash drive
and human interface device for the mouse ) There is no selected driver
for the device information set or element.

I've been at this for days, does anyone have a solution.
