I bought vista ultimate 32 for my new build and I have had nothing but
problems. When trying to install 3 different games, i get an error when it is
"configuring visual c++ 2005 redistributable. this is the error i get:

PLEASE HELP. i am very angry that microsofts own plugins dont work with
their own operating system and I must pay $60 to have them fix it. I am not
going to pay them to fix their own problem. I have spent $180 on 3 games and
NONE of them work...

Microsoft teams certainly tested installing VS C++ 2005 SP1's REDIST on
Windows Vista, but you are clearly hitting some kind of error specific to
your system or the files you downloaded. The error is a bit vague, so you
should look at the system and application event logs to see if there's
anything more specific to indicate the cause of the problem.

From a quick search of the internet on 'error 1935', it seems like people
who have run into problems like this had some kind of trial version of
Visual Studio installed. I'm assuming this was a FRESH install and not an
UPGRADE install?

Sorry for ranting on microsoft, I'm just upset. The computer was a fresh
build and I installed a new copy of OEM vista ultimate. Can anyone help me? I
am new to vista.

Have you tried running the stand-alone VC redistributable package?

For X86:

I also am having this problem. I did a complete re-format and fresh
install and still the same error. I downloaded the file via the link
you provided and still no luck.

Any extra information on this topic would be great!

Add. My error is the exact same as the image that Tim posted.

I am having the same problem in trying to install Acid Music Studio b
Sonic Foundry. Same error and everything. I had never installed an
version of Visual Studio and when I try to install it, it fails. I eve
tried uninstalling it, in case there was a pre-existing version in m
system and it says it cannot be found

I'm at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated
