Volume Leveling

Posted: 06-25-2004, 06:21 PM
I've been experiencing a problem with my Media Player
version 9.00.00.3128 in which, while scanning for my
media, it doesn't adjust the volume to all of my MP3.

Mind you, none of the files in question have checks in
the box next to 'Read Only'. It just merely seems that
after spending quiet a while going through the slow
process of scanning, the Media Player simply chooses to
adjust the volume of random MP3 and disregards the others.

I'm not sure as to why this is occuring. Like I stated,
these 'unchangable' files are not 'Read Only', so I'm
kinda scratching my head.

If anyone has a solution, or at least a reason, as to why
this is happening, it would be greatly appriciated.

Thank you.

WMP9 (and any other such software) will only play the tracks at the volume
level they were recorded.

You need to normalise the sound (Audacity - free, doo a Google search) can
do this. So can Goldwave (you have to pay a small fee, but its worth it).
This will maximise the sound and you'll have all your tracks at the same
level.

http://www.cdex.n3.net/ for the former

http://www.goldwave.com for the latter.

Cheers,
Jerry
