Volume Manager Installer

When starting XP Professional two instances of the
error "Windows could not load the installer for volume.
See your hardware vendor ...". After clicking OK, a
ballon appears stating that the hardware is installed.
There are no yellow exclamation marks in device manager.
At device manager, my computer, view, show devices by
connection there are two entries under volume manager that
are unknown volume.
There are no articles in the knowledge base for this. I
can't be first one of millions of useres who have see this.
