Wav Files Play When I Don't Want Them To

a .wav file, it starts to play. No visible player is
available to stop it. Only way to stop it is to select a
Non-wav file and use the arrow keys to get down to it then
hit Delete button. Can't even delete the file with out it
playing. I have gone to the file associations and removed
the open and play functions... No HELP
