Whats happened to ?

I expect I am lazy or ignorant (or both) but having just moved from XP to
Vista what has happened to
'edit select all' and 'edit copy' 'edit paste'. A procedure I used a lot.
And 'start programs' just gets a mingy list with no obvious way of
re-ordering it.
I suppose I shall have to read all about how vista works.

Still there. Where are you not seeing these?

Asking a question?
Please tell us the version of the application you are asking about,
your OS, Service Pack level
and the FULL contents of any error message(s)

Organize/Layout/Menu bar

It's not enabled by default.

The start menu is much the same as XP. The programs are under All programs,
with programs first and folders second in ascending sequence.
Entering a program name in the search box will bring that program up for
you. Just what "edit select all, edit copy and edit paste" are you referring
to?

If you press the ORGANIZE button on windows explorer, it has a SELECT ALL,

or if you like the old menu bar, go to ORGANIZE> LAYOUT> MENU BAR

Then you will have the familiar menu toolbar (I like this too)

also for sorting out start menu take a look at this FREE program (for xp and
vista):

tell me if this helps

In most, if not all, Windows programs you can press "Alt" key to pop up the
menu bar....

and ctrl & v

Are much quicker once you get used to using them.

I mean.....why move the mouse all the way up to 'edit', click it, then move
down to 'paste' and then click that ?
