When will Vista RC 1 stop working?

Can you clarify what you mean by "Also, if you installed Ultimate, as most
did, you likely > will have to use that same version for the upgrade to
release"?
Do you mean that because we "test drove" the top model we have to purchase
that one?

Hi,

I am surmising at this point, but in general downgrades have never been
allowed. To upgrade RC1 to the final release, you'll probably have to use
the same version. If you choose to use a different one, then you'll have to
start clean.

I believe the expiry date is around end of May. No updates are available for
RC1 so you either will have to buy Vista or go back to XP
